Have you ever wondered where they make the yummy Tillamook cheese that we eat in our house almost everyday?
We decided to make a trip over to the town of Tillamook to find out. We learned some cool new facts. It takes 10 gallons of milk to make 1 pound of cheese, the cheese factory uses 170 million gallons of milk every day, and they celebrated their 100th anniversary on August 1st 2009.
Mrs. Finnestad is a very smart mommy and brought a stroller. Thankfully it is a sit-stand stroller and can hold a bunch of children because that is just what she had. As daddy and I were busy getting Mayla ready, the Finnestads started the short walk to the factory with all 5 of their children and 3 of ours. She was cracking up when we approached. She said that she had many many heads turning and she watched people literally counting all the little heads that were trailing behind them 1...2...3...4...5...6...7! No wait there is one more...8!!!!
We enjoyed watching them make our cheese and cut it into different size blocks. We also thought it was a lot of fun to try milking the cow. Then we were off for a lunch with happy face french fries and yummy ice cream, but we couldn't leave without a wrestling match in the grass!
