Pool Party

Austin had his 7th birthday party a couple of weeks early this year. We were able to join Gabe in celebrating his 5th birthday (2 weeks late) for a pool party. It was so fun!

The party...

Okay, so first of all... the Seahawks lost. I have to get that out of the way because it did bring down the mood of the birthday party a little bit (not too much thankfully!).

But other then that Kadin's birthday party was full of excitement. The kids had a wonderful time playing together. One of the highlights was the blowup bouncer in the back yard. They spent more time outside then in...which is nice when you consider how loud 12 children can be. We loaded them all up with cake, opened gifts and sent them all home. I would like to thank everyone that was able to come and celebrate with us... even if it was only for a short time (Denise and Jenna). We missed you James, Jonathan, and Karen!

Happy Birthday Kadin!!!

2 years ago today I was still pregnant with my little Kadin. In fact I was 5 days late and still pregnant with my little Kadin. I woke up in the morning and begged Kevin not to go to work. I desperately needed a break from my big belly but since that wasn't coming I really wanted to go to MOPS by myself. I didn't want to have to bend over and tie the kids shoes or buckle them in the car seats.

My darling husband called in for work and off I went to MOPS (with occasional contraction's). I kept thinking...5 days late...this could go on for days...this child is never coming out! Little did I know that I would start labor while sitting at my MOPS table. I sat down at about 9:30 in the morning and the contraction quickly became regular and about 5 minutes apart. I enjoyed wonderful conversation for the next 2 hours. Then I went to the car and called my husband to tell him that we were going to have a baby today and my mom to come and watch the kids. I started the car to drive home and real labor began. Painful labor. I had about a 15 minute drive home and I didn't know if I could make it. Twice I was stopped as the lead car for road construction. Riving in pain and tears streaming down my face I waited until the "stop" sign turned to "slow". I would love to know what those flaggers were thinking. They kept starring at me that that look that says...what is wrong with her?

We made it to the hospital at about 1:oo and our little baby was in our arms less then 2 hours later. Without an epidural!! (which I would never recommend)....

IT'S A BOY!!! Kadin James Currey came into our lives at 2:51 pm on November 14, 2006 weighing 8 pounds 10 ounces.

Wow, what beautiful little boy. Austin and Emma loved him instantly and continuously fought over who could hold him all day long.

just a stay at home mom...

Have any of you ever cleaned house like this??

0930 am:
time to start the laundry...
go up stairs to gather the laundry
make my bed.
bring laundry down stairs
oops-I need to rewash the load I forgot to change yesterday.
fold blankets on the family room floor
realize that the dishes need to be done
gather dishes and put them in the sink
find a toy that needs to go upstairs
walk through the living room and notice that it needs to be vacuumed
but has to be picked up first
start to pick up the toys and take them upstairs.
walk by the front door and find a coat that needs to be hung up.
go to the closet and find more dirty clothes-add them to the huge pile in the family room
refold the blankets from earlier (thank you Kadin)
see that the blocks have been pulled out, dumped, and left.
clean up the blocks
finally take the toys upstairs (dumping them in the hall-knowing that I have a ton of stuff to do upstairs but wanting to get down stairs done first)
drink some Caffeine
notice that a child spilled juice all over the counter(including some important papers)
clean up the mess
switch laundry-adding another load to the 2 on the couch from yesterday
start to make lunch
start to empty dishwasher
forgot to start dryer-start dryer
give the kids lunch
finish emptying dishwasher
load dishwasher
start to fold laundry-pausing twice to take Kadin off the counter
take a load upstairs(to my bed-I will put it away later-I hope)
see Emma's snails and tell her to talk them outside for their fresh air (on nice days she has to let them run around in the grass while I clean their container)
clean the snail container
vacuum the living room (Yea! one room done; as long as the kids do not go back in it!)
start to clean the computer desk
find Emma with scissors cutting paper (not hair) clean that up
take Kadin off the counter
fold more laundry
cut apple for kids
eat cookie-drink more caffeine (okay you can just add this every couple of minutes)
refold the laundry that was dumped on the floor while I was getting the apple
check email
clean off kitchen counters
start sweeping
take Kadin off the counter-again
sit down to eat a hot dot
take Kadin off the counter 5 more times
switch laundry
fold laundry-pausing only once to take Kadin off the counter
put Kadin down for his nap

rest and blog

things to finish before Kevin gets home:

clean off the kitchen table (that is where I put everything that I find while I clean up that belongs somewhere besides where I found it)
finish cleaning the computer desk
finish sweeping and mop the kitchen and hall
clean 3 bathrooms
vacuum the family room and upstairs
pick up and clean all 3 children's bedrooms
make dinner

yep-you guessed it-that's never going to happen! Who says that a stay at home mom doesn't work for a living!?
