Roller Skating

This evening as the snow began to fall again, we packed up and hit the rink. It has been almost 4 years since we tried to take the family roller skating. The last time didn't go so well. Emma was a little tiny baby, and Austin was 3 years old. We told him how fun it would be as we put the skates on him. He stood up and started wailing. We were only there for about 5 minutes before we gave up and decided leave. The manager was wonderful and graciously gave us our money back.

Back to tonight...

We had a great time! We were joined by the Matt Earnhardt family, The Greg Earnhardt family, the Finnestad family, Grandma and Grandpa Myers, and Aunt Janelle. Wow-that means that there were 11 adults and 12 children skating; plus 2 babies that were loved and cuddled.

Austin used the inline skates and took off like a pro; he even won the race. He skated for almost 2 hours straight and wouldn't even stop to eat. Emma loved to skate with Grandma and Grandpa. She went around and around and fell many times, both on and off the rink. She tuckered out after about 30 minutes but had a fun time watching and eating cotton candy. Even Kadin had a fantastic time. I believe that he made it around the rink at least 2 times with Aunt Janelle and Grandpa. He spent a lot of time driving on the car-type video games.

As we left Austin asked if we could go back soon and Emma wanted to know when she could have more cotton candy!
