Camping on Anderson Island

This was our first camping trip this year.  We have been planning it for a couple of months now and were really excited because we got to go to Anderson Island.  Since Aunt Laura, Uncle Raymond, Aunt Desiree all live on the island we were planning on having a big BBQ on the 4th of July.  But...it turns out that they are fair weather friends because as soon as they saw the cloudy weather this weekend they all flew the coup. 

But the thought of a little rain didn't stop us! 

One of the first things we did was go on the hike down to the beach.  I couldn't believe the amount of mosquitoes that came at us as soon as we opened the car doors!

I think it was only about a 1/2 mile hike to the beach but it was worth braving the mosquitoes and mud to get there.  We explored the beach finding crabs, bones, and jelly fish.  And of course we had fun skipping rocks.
