First oral report??

I had no idea that Austin would need to do an oral report as a First Grader! But 2 weeks ago he brought home a letter telling us that he has his first project that he has to present to the class.

He was able to do just about anything that he wanted to do as long as it had something to do with the ocean. They sent home a list of about 30 things to choose from OR they could make up their own. Of course Austin wanted to make up his own project and decided that he wanted to make a shark.

We used a 2 liter soda bottle, cardboard cut outs, paper mache, paint...and voila, his shark was ready.
He helped me do some internet research and came up with some interesting facts to write out about the Great White Shark and share with his class.
1. it is 12-26 feet long
2. it has about 3000 teeth
3. it can weigh about 5000 pounds
4. it likes to eat fish
5. it can swim 15 miles per hour
He said that the presentation went well and he used great eye contact. The class loved his Great White Shark and the cool facts about them.
Great Job Austin!!
