Peek-a-boo

Where is Kadin?

There he is!!!

Not me!

I am not posting this an entire day late because of pure laziness!

I did not go racing through Safeway with Kevin singing eebee baby to Kadin on my cell phone, and of course no one looked at me like I was crazy while I didn't do that! And I'm sure that Kevin's boss did not question why he was sitting at his desk singing eebee baby on the phone! I did not stay up until 2:30 in the morning for no reason at all twice this week. I did not take an entire box of chocolate and take a bite out of each chocolate inside to see which one I would like... that would have been very wasteful! Kevin did not hold up a piece of Emma's clothes while asking if it was mine (what would he have been thinking?!).

visitors

I can't sleep tonight so I think I will spend some time telling you about my day...

It began with everyone sleeping in until 8:00. That was wonderful until I remembered that I was having some very special company and I needed to frantically finish cleaning my house, shower, get the kids breakfast, AND get Austin ready for school. So that's what I spent the next 30 minutes doing. We were all set and ready to go to the bus stop with about 1 minute to spare...then I remembered. I forgot to pack Austin's lunch!!! That was the fastest lunch I have ever made, even Dash himself would have been proud!

Okay, so Austin is off to school and I spend the next few minutes watching the garbage trucks with Kadin and Emma until Sarah arrives with her 16 month old daughter Ella. (Sarah was the nurse that cared for Timothy and myself in the hospital AND this was her first visit to my house)

Now I must say again. Sarah has only 1 daughter and she is 16 months old. I really hope that her visit at the Currey house didn't scare her into permanent birth control! Let me tell you a little more...They weren't in our house for more then 5 minutes before Kadin dumped an entire 2 pound bag of animal crackers all over the floor. He still wanted to eat them so I scooped some up into a bowl. After a few more minutes he proceeded to dump those (which I didn't pick up and he ate off the floor).

It was definitely crazy house day. I think Kadin as really enjoying himself. We had more then one episode of him walking around on top of the kitchen table. He even enjoyed playing a little game of toss from the top of the table (things he wasn't supposed to be tossing!). Then my wonderful children decided it would be fun to slide and jump off of the TOP of the couch.

I only turned my back for a second when I was making sandwiches. Kadin was instantly on the kitchen island with a sharp knife in hand. Both Sarah and I were trying to get the knife from him which caused him to start flailing. Yep...my son, sitting on the kitchen island, with a sharp knife, giggling and flailing.

I don't even know how many times we heard (add whiny voice here) "Stop Kadin! That's mine..." then Kadin response "AAAAHHHHHH!!!!!"

All the while her wonderful Ella was just sitting quietly like a perfect angel. Watching everything around her like, "wow mom, these guys are crazy!"

Sarah was extremely nice the entire time and we were able to giggle about everything together. But here I was trying to impress a new friend, to show her how well behaved my children are, and what a calm house I have. I don't think that I fooled her!! Oh well...at least she knows what she is getting into if she chooses to come again... *sigh*

Not me!!

I have joined McMamma! I am going to start playing Not Me Mondays... To join the fun click here.

I was not alone all weekend long with 3 rambunctious children while my husband was not a relaxing men's retreat. I did not allow them to play in the rain with out coats or shoes and they did not get soaking wet. I did not eat cookies for breakfast or take them to McDonald's drive thru for dinner. I certainly did not allow Emma to stay up late and watch a movie with me so that I wouldn't have to make her stay in bed.

I did not wear the same pair of jeans for the last 4 days in a row. I have not been ignoring the laundry which has the only other pair of pants that fit me in it. That would be totally gross!

I did not hake a huge mess while I used a hammer to defrost my freezer.

My little ballerina

"Is it time yet?"

"Let's go to dance class!"

"Are we going to miss it?!"

"When do we get to go, mommy?"

"Is it going to start without us?"

"Don't forget about dance class..."

These are just a few of Emma's many questions this morning. They began when she got up and became more frantic as the hours and minutes passed. Emma has been counting down the days for several weeks now and couldn't wait to see the dance studio and learn how to dance. She was a natural. She didn't have any problems joining the class and loved watching and following the instructor. She was thrilled to have Juliana in her class. Denise and I spent some time giggling as we watched them sit together and examine each other's shoes!

Princess party

Today was a busy day for our family. There were a couple of fun activities that we couldn't miss out on so we decided to divide and conquer!

Kevin took the boys to a fun family picnic hosted by his company, Convergint. He says that it was a great afternoon filled with games and football. They boys loved having a day with their Daddy.

I took Emma to her first princess party. One of her friends, Isabella Earnheardt, celebrated her 4th birthday with a princess and tea party. She had a wonderful time. She loved getting all dressed up and having her first girl party. There was a balloon room, ring around the rosie, nail painting and make up!

Jordan Earnhardt's 6th Birthday

We drove ALL the way out to Gram this afternoon! Okay, I guess that the address is really Puyallup but is just a couple of miles away from Gram...

Thanks to the wonderful Earnhardt family we were able to join in the fun and help Jordan celebrate his 6th birthday today. We had a ball watching the kids play on the huge water slide and have a fun bowling contest, and the winner was...Abby Finnestad!!

First day of school

****UPDATE*** Austins first day went wonderful! He loves his new teacher, had 3 friends from last year in his class with him, and is excited to have 3 recesses. One of the most exciting events of the day...the bus ride home. His bus broke down! Mid rout they had to wait for a replacement then change to the new bus. Thankfully he finally arrived home (35 minutes late) and we were able to get a snack and talk about his fun first day at school. ***

Austin is officially a first grader!! He was so excited. He had been counting down the days for a couple of weeks now. He carefully picked out his first day of school clothes last night and put them in a stack on his dresser. He woke up this morning thrilled to find out that Daddy choose to stay home just to see him get on the bus. He said "But Dad, your going to be late for work!"

I can't help but worry about him. Watching him get on the bus reminds me how big he is, but it I also see my little boy. He met his teacher, Miss Fisher, at the end of kindergarten but I wonder if he will remember where his new class is and if he will find new friends.

Camping at Teanaway

One last fun family outing before the beginning of a new school year. We spend 3 nights and 2 days at 29 pines in Teaneway. 29 pines is a wonderful rugged campground north of Cle Elum Washington. A few of my favorite things...playing in the river, climbing trees, finding bugs, hunting for firewood, s'mores, heaving heavy rocks into the river, watching the kids ride bikes, and visiting with our friends (both before putting the kids to bed and after). It does come with it's drawbacks though...NO BATHROOM!! And since our tent trailer had a little problem with our water pump, no running water. Thankfully Jimmy and Grandpa Finnestad came to our rescue, we now have a working water pump and plan to put it to good use. After a great weekend filled with tons of dirt, scrapes, laughter, a couple of meltdowns, and a few hours with out heat in the wee hours of the morning ( in 30 degree weather) we packed up and were thrilled to hit the showers!
